HERE'S ANOTHER "LIFE PRINCIPLE" EXPLAINED BY DR. THOMAS Q. ROBBINS

PRINCIPLE:  Why do different people respond to the Gospel so - differently?  You’ve heard the parable taught by Jesus of the sower who scattered seed on four different types of soils.  These four types of soil can also be present in the life of faith that a Christian lives.

Only then can the roots can go deep into one's life, just as Paul encourages in chapter two of the book of Colossians.  It is so hard to live a consistent life of faith with all the contrary messages we are exposed to each day.

Appeals for our time and money, and the distractions in life demand our limited energy and interest.  We must determine and then pay attention the priorities in our life.  Only then will we hear, believe, be saved, and bring other into contact with the seed containing good news of the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Most likely, you’ve heard the parable taught by Jesus of the sower who scattered seed on four different types of soils.  The hard path, the rocky ground, the soil that was full of thorns and weeds, and then the beautiful soil that was cultivated and deep.

All four types of ground were given the seed of the gospel and, expectedly, four very different results.  Most likely you know or can call people to mind who resemble these soils – perhaps even loved ones.

Thomas Q. adds an interesting slant to the implications of these four types of soil.  He will show that in addition to the soils representing individuals who first hear the gospel – that at times these four types of soil can also be present in the life of faith that a Christian lives.

Why do people respond to the Gospel so - differently?

     How about Predestination?

And where does Free Will fit in?

This lesson, “The Soil Makes the Difference” has its text is found in the New Testament book of Matthew, chapter 13, verses 1 and 2.

Something To Consider

The greatest witness the Church of Jesus Christ should have in its culture would be in arena of morality and spirituality.  We are living in a society where there is so much ambivalence and confusion. It’s truly a morass of sexual and economic confusion, spiritual and religious perplexity and political and social bewilderment.   The Church has been given a vast team of believers to share their faith and tell of what Jesus Christ has done for them.  How are you fitting into God’s plan for the Church to witness to its culture?  -Thomas Q.
