Do you have your story down? – your personal testimony of what God has done for you? Are you ready to share it with someone? God brings opportunities in our normal daily life to tell others about the Good News. It’s up to us whether we’re ready or not to accept those opportunities.
For several weeks, Thomas Q. Robbins has been encouraging us to seriously think about our testimony of what Jesus Christ means to us -- and this lesson is no exception,
The Holy Spirit places people in our path who are open and willing to hear good news. Some desperately need to know they can be forgiven and start all over with a ‘new life’ – exactly what the Samaritan woman so joyously received.
The setting of this Bible study is Samaria as Jesus is moving from Judea to Galilee because of the talk being spread that ‘Jesus is baptizing more than John the Baptist. Of course, Jesus disciples do the baptizing but Jesus did not want any part of this kind of rumor so they left for Galilee.
Rather than go around Samaria as other Jews do when they travel Jesus and his disciples travel right through the middle of it. Yes, this Bible study is about the familiar account of Jesus’ encounter with the Samaritan ‘woman at the well.”
While his disciples are getting food in town, Jesus offers this outsider the opportunity for new life. In the discussion that followed the Samaritan woman returning to town, Jesus said three things to teach His disciples regarding the new thing that God was doing in the lives of people.
There is urgency because the harvest is NOW -- not four months from now. Look around you – wake up! The harvest is ripe and ready.
If you are in a place where you have your Bible turn to John 4:31 and Thomas Q.’s lesson – “Don’t Be a Niche. Be Intentional!”
