God used cosmic events and entered into historical events in the early years of his revelation to mankind but that general revelation was incomplete. Not until He came to earth as a little baby, in a humble setting, did God complete what he intended. He revealed his will for the salvation of the world through his son. Jesus was both flesh and God. He entered into the history of mankind and was seen and heard as "one of us." He came to earth, not to condemn the world but that the world through His plan and person could be reconciled and have a personal relationship with him. (1 John 3:16) -Thomas Q. Robbins

"HOW WELL DO YOU PROVOKE OTHERS?" Hebrews 10:19-25 #207

evangelism.jpgDr. Thomas Q Robbins believes there is an extremely important message for any serious follower of Jesus Christ in the 10th chapter of Hebrews, verses 19-25.  This passage clearly describes the six disciplines that make one an effective disciple of Jesus Christ.

There is such a critical need for the Church to be all that is was created to be.  Practicing these six aspects of discipleship or disciplines that are discussed in this Bible study will allow us to help the Church become what it was intended to be when Jesus Christ established it.

Dr. Robbins thoroughly explains the six disciplines that are vital to our growth as a Christian and suggests a simple three-part procedure to get us all restarted with a renewed desire to become all that God intends for us to be.

None of these six disciplines are new to you.  They represent areas of life – areas of practice – that are intended to become as natural as breathing and sleeping.  Look for them as you listen to the message.  You may call the message up and listen via audio streaming or download it as a podcast to listen to later.  These are the areas to look for:

1. Prayer

2. Persevere in your faith.  Focus on the Faithfulness of God.  Get your eyes off of yourself.

3. Provoke others in the works of love and the things of God.  We are to encourage and hold each other accountable for translating our faith into daily life.

4. Meet with God both alone and with others.  Practice His Presence.

5. Encourage each other.

6. Never lose site of the return of Jesus Christ.  Believe in the Resurrection.

These are the basic principles for us to follow so that we, as Paul says in Second Corinthians, know God better today than we did the day before.  Practicing these principles will make us a different person and much more prepared to help make the world a better place to live in until Christ returns.

WONDERED ABOUT THE THEME OF "COME AND SEE?"

bobpress.jpgBob Bennett  - Artist/Composer "Come and See" theme
Many listeners have asked about the theme song of "Come and See."  It is sung by Bob Bennett who is also the composer.  Some ten years ago, Bob gave Dr. and Mrs. Robbins permission to use his "Come and See" song for the radio program.  Since then listeners have been blessed by the message and the unique ministry of Bob Bennett.  You already know a lot about Bob just by listening the short theme.  He is unique in that while a musician and artist in Christian music, he is NOT a performer but rather a minister.  That's his life -- to serve his Lord through a unique approach to Christian music.   His official biography is printed below when you click the <READ MORE> link.
